About me
A Professional Engineer, with a Bachelors Degree in Mechanical Engineering from Dalhousie University in 2003, he has had a diverse career in Offshore Energy in Canada. He started his career with Mobil Canada on the Sable Offshore Energy Project, working in Procurement and Maintenance, then moving to Facilities Engineering and Asset Integrity. Gerald joined the Canadian Offshore energy regulatory for 8 years, as an Advisor for Facilities and Production, and was the Alternate Chief Safety Officer for the Regulator. He participated in the ISO/CSA Offshore Structures subcommittee, IOGP working groups, as well as R&D program oversight for Canadian Pipelines. He was an active member in CAPP, developing offshore training standards and offshore Safe Lifting Practices. Gerald has spent the last 11 years with SBM Offshore, on the Deep Panuke Project, Canada’s first offshore sour gas production project, where he managed the Canadian unit as Operations Manager, Decommissioning Manager, and was responsible for the Deep Panuke Recycling project. Today Gerald has transitioned to Offshore Renewables within SBM Offshore, actively managing SBM’s activity for the development of Floating Offshore Wind in Canada.
